Conveniently sited within the very heart of the French Rhone-Alps region, Grenoble Isere Airport (GNB) is around 40 km / 25 miles north-west of the town of Grenoble. The airport has become the ideal gateway into the many booming companies and industries located within the Grenoble area itself.

Isere Airport can be reached by car from Grenoble in about 30 minutes by taking Highway A48 towards Lyon and turning off at the airport exit. Regular bus services are also provided from the city centre's train station to the airport, being operated by the Isere Transit Authority and also connecting neighbouring ski resorts, while taxis are readily available to whisk passengers straight to the terminal.

Grenoble Isere Airport originally came into being in 1968, when it was built to support the Rhône Alpes Winter Games. The airport soon became an important doorway into this part of France and was maintained by the local government.

Particularly significant was 2002, when Grenoble Airport proudly opened its new terminal, which was built after a total investment of some €8 million. The airport is currently managed by the Lyon Chamber of Commerce and today features a runway measuring more around 3,050 metres / 10,005 feet, able to accommodate Boeing 747s and similar sized aircraft.

On site, travellers will be able to find a range of facilities, such as cashpoints, a restaurant and bar, a bookstore and duty-free shopping within the departures area. Meeting rooms are available for business passengers at Grenoble Isere Airport, while those arriving by car will discover over 500 parking spaces close to the terminal building itself.
